Carrier

Install Carrier

Carrier is in public beta on Mac and Windows. It is free on your machine and needs no account. Paste one command to install it.

Mac, in Terminal:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/carrierdev/carrier/main/scripts/install.sh | sh

Windows, in PowerShell:

irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/carrierdev/carrier/main/scripts/install.ps1 | iex

Why a command and not a download

Beta builds are not code-signed yet. macOS and Windows block an unsigned app you download in a browser, but not one installed this way. The script downloads the newest release from GitHub, checks it against the release's SHA-256 sums, and installs it. You can read it first: install.sh for Mac and install.ps1 for Windows.

  • On Mac it installs Carrier.app in Applications, for Apple silicon or Intel.
  • On Windows it installs for your user only and does not need admin.

Updating

Run the same command again. It quits a running copy and replaces it.

After you install

Carrier asks before it adds its tracking hook to an agent's settings. It asks once per agent. You can remove any hook later in Settings.

Uninstalling

In Settings, choose Remove all hooks. Then delete the app. On Windows, remove it from Settings, then Apps. Your notes folders and their timeline.md files stay where they are.
